Collective Support Facilitator
Throughout her decade-plus career the mantra: Dream.Disrupt.Deliver has been the driving force behind her love and pursuit of equitable, joyful, nurturing environments for students to cultivate their genius. Prior to Joining Transcend, Courtney was a secondary Math Instructor turned Dean of Instruction for YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Tx; an MTLD for Teach for America in her hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a founding Director of School Environment at an amazing nontraditional tech high school in New Orleans called Rooted School; and most recently had the privilege of leading the student joy, agency, and turnaround work as School Leader of one of Baton Rouge’s oldest and most historic black high schools - Capitol High School. Outside of the K-12 Building, Courtney also designed Culturally Responsive Teaching modules for Johns Hopkins University and serves as a Capstone Coach and EdTPA Facilitator for the university’s master’s program. Courtney earned her BS in Psychology from Louisiana State University and her master’s in Organizational and School Building Leadership from Columbia University. In her free time, she loves to go to the lakes with her son Noah, support POC initiatives that promote healing and joy, perfect age-defying skincare routines, and indulge in all things Louisiana: football, festivals, and food. |
