Natasha Warsaw has twenty-one years of experience as a teacher and leader in the field of education. She began her career as a teacher with the DC Public Schools as a middle school English and Social Studies teacher. After a number of years in the classroom, Natasha sought new ways to impact the quality of teaching and learning for the diverse population of students that she served. She applied to New Leaders, a highly selective, accelerated Principal training program and was accepted. After she completed her New Leaders fellowship, Natasha held positions in both DC Public and Charter Schools serving diverse populations, before stepping away to found Sustainable Futures Public Charter School, soon to be a private, tuition free micro school serving students between the ages of sixteen and twenty-four. She now works as a coach and consultant supporting schools and organizations across the country that are working to create equitable, identity responsive, and restorative environments. Natasha remains deeply committed to supporting students, teachers, and leaders. As a fifth generation educators in her family, she views her work as an educator as legacy work and is committed to continuing her family’s legacy of ensuring that students have schools that offer a rigorous education that is attuned to the whole child. Natasha thrives on disrupting the status quo when necessary to ensure that every student has what they need to build a sustainable life. When she is not doing the work that she loves, with the community that she loves, she enjoys reading, kayaking and hanging out with her four legged and human friends and family. |
